A new partnership between CHA ART SPACE and AVA!

CHA ART SPACE is a modular public art exhibit space, currently housed in the ticketing area of the Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport (where it can be viewed and enjoyed by any visitor 24/7). It was established in 2021 by artist and director/curator, Carrie Pendergrass, in collaboration with the Chattanooga Airport. The launch of the space and its’ inaugural exhibit, “Into the Blue: Abstraction in the Airport” was made possible via an Artist Work Grant, with partnership/funding from ArtsBuild, Public Art Chattanooga, and Southeast TN Development District. Carrie has been operating it independently since 2022, hosting 3-4 themed, juried exhibits per year, showcasing art from local and regional artists and collections.
AVA is thrilled to announce that we are now partnering with Carrie Pendergrass of CHA ART SPACE as a satellite program of AVA. It remains under Carrie’s management, but also includes some infrastructural and staff support from AVA.

Due to a clunky system, we’ve changed the submission process back to individual submission forms. We have a NEWLY UPDATED Submission Fee. Going forward, you may submit as many pieces as you’d like, but each submission is done separately, and they are $15 per piece. If you are an AVA Member, use discount code: AVAMEMCHA for $5 off at check out ($10 per piece).

Make sure that you save & upload your image(s) with Your Last Name & the Title of the piece (ex: JONES_STILL LIFE II.jpeg) or you will risk your work not being eligible for submission!

KITCHEN SINK

Show Dates: 10/2/25- 01/15/25

Most people are familiar with the phrases "everything but the kitchen sink" or “everything and the kitchen sink,” to reference a large amount or variety of things. For this "themeless" show, artists were invited to submit works of any subject matter, genre and style (i.e. landscape, figurative, still life, abstract, etc.). We'd like to thank Mike Holsomback, artist and guest juror, for his help in selecting these works that celebrate the many ideas and approaches of this group of artists.
